Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information Utah Court Docket may receive during a visit, how that information is used, and the circumstances in which a service provider may handle it. Browsing the site is subject to the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A query entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. That provider processes the search and returns results under its own service and privacy terms. Utah Court Docket does not store or log the search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email the site, the message is retained so it can be answered and managed. It is not shared outside the organization unless law requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

A page request may produce technical visit information, including:

  • The time and date of a page view
  • Your device category and operating system
  • The web page that referred you, when present
  • Your IP address
  • The browser name and version
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files saved by a browser. Site analytics may use them to group traffic measures, such as pages viewed and points where visits end. Browser controls can block or remove cookies. If they are disabled, some features may work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests
  • Finding and correcting technical problems
  • Measuring which pages visitors use
  • Keeping the site available and responsive
  • Passing a search request to the provider that powers its search box

No Court-Record Data on File

Utah Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of case histories or personal court-record information. It provides general direction to Utah's public court systems and to the clerks that keep official records for their courts. Utah court case access is governed by rules including Utah Code of Judicial Administration Rule 4-202.02; the broader government-record framework is GRAMA, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2. These rules concern court records, not the technical visit data described in this policy. Information about visitors is not compiled here into consumer reports or records about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A name, number, or other query submitted there is handled under the provider's privacy policy and retention practices. Utah Court Docket does not set those practices. Read the provider's terms before entering information.

Links to Other Websites

Links lead to Utah court resources, county pages, legal-aid organizations, and outside search providers. Once a link opens another service, that service's privacy policy applies to the visit. Review its terms before sharing details.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites or personalize ads. Utah Court Docket does not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Utah Court Docket does not sell personal data. Information may be handled by:

  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
  • Advertising networks that place or measure ads
  • Analytics providers that measure site traffic
  • Search providers that receive queries entered into their tools

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security measures are used to protect information handled by this site. Internet systems cannot be guaranteed free of risk, and Utah Court Docket cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 18. If a child has provided information, a parent or guardian may contact the site to request its deletion.

Your Data Rights

The Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 61, provides certain rights to consumers and applies only to controllers or processors within the statute's scope, thresholds, and exceptions. Where that law applies, a consumer may request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of covered personal data and may opt out of certain processing under Utah Code § 13-61-201. At a minimum, you can:

  • Request deletion of information provided to the site
  • Ask to access a copy of personal data held about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Opt out of processing where the law provides that option
