About Utah Court Docket

Utah court records sit across several court levels and access systems. Xchange indexes many public District and Justice Court cases, the Utah Judiciary sets statewide court-record rules, and the clerk for the court that heard a case keeps its official file. An online case history can point to the right courthouse, but it is not the same as a complete case file or a certified copy. The statewide links and county directory organize those routes so readers can identify which Utah court source fits the record they need.

Why We Built This Site

Utah's statewide index and local case file are separate parts of the record. Xchange brings together eligible public District and Justice Court case information, while Utah court rules govern which cases and documents may be viewed. The full file remains with the clerk for the court and location that handled the case. Utah does not have one county clerk who keeps every District, Justice, Juvenile, appellate, and specialized-court record. A statewide search can identify a case and its court, then the county directory helps locate the local court route for a filing, older document, or certified copy.

What You Will Find Here

  • The court structure: an overview of the Utah court system and which court keeps a particular record
  • Case lookup: how to search Xchange by name, case number, type, or court location with the case lookup page
  • County routing: the county directory for reaching local court information
  • Civil and criminal dockets: what criminal and civil case histories can show and where each official file is maintained
  • Court settings: how to use Utah court dates and confirm a recent change with the court
  • Record requests: where to seek filings, judgments, audio, transcripts, and certified copies through the court record search resources

What We Cannot Do

This is a private reference resource, separate from Utah State Courts, local court clerks, and government agencies. Its role is to point to public court resources. It cannot:

  • Retrieve an official Utah case file or confirm its current status
  • Set, move, or verify a hearing date for a court
  • Change a public record's access class, seal a case, or revise a court entry
  • Provide a clerk-authenticated copy of an order, judgment, or docket
  • Give legal advice about a filing, ruling, charge, or deadline
  • Guarantee that court contact details, fees, calendar entries, or online availability have not changed

The clerk for the court holding a Utah case issues its official or certified record. Use the directory to identify the local court, then ask that clerk for the needed document.

Search Partners

Some search boxes on this site are operated by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, handle their own searches, and return results that this site does not control. A completed paid signup may generate a referral fee for this site. That arrangement does not make an outside result a Utah court record, and a provider's charges and data practices are governed by its own terms.
