This Is Not a Court or Government Office. Utah Court Docket is independently operated. It cannot retrieve the official case file, set or reset a hearing, seal or amend a record, issue a certified copy, or provide legal advice. Contact the clerk for the court that holds the case, using the Utah Courts directory to identify the correct location.
Need an Official Docket or Record?
Use the Utah Judiciary or the record-holding court for these case-specific needs:
- Public District or Justice Court case information: use Xchange: Public Case Search. Remote searches are paid; free public terminals are available at most District Court courthouses and the State Law Library.
- A case file, order, or certified copy: send the Utah Request for Record form to the clerk for the court that holds the file. Use the county directory and Utah Courts directory to locate that court.
- A hearing date or setting: check the Utah Court Calendar and confirm a recent change with the court location shown in the case papers.
- An appeal: search the separate Utah appellate public docket as well as the originating trial-court case.
- The court structure: review how Utah District, Justice, Juvenile, Business and Chancery, and appellate courts keep different records in the Utah Court System overview.
Xchange is a public index, not a complete file for every Utah case. District and Justice Court clerks, specialized court clerks, and appellate clerks keep records for their own courts. A county name can include more than one courthouse or Justice Court, so confirm the venue before sending a request or traveling.
